As incredibly fascinating and majestic animals can be, nothing quite trumps a dog. From the very beginning of time, they have walked by our side with an unwavering level of love, loyalty, and devotion that continues to leave us all in awe. Which makes the events such as the one below all the more heartbreaking.
Captured only by chance by Brandon Price and Aylssa Ott at Orchards Community Park in Vancouver, the clip begins by appearing to show, what looks like a dog owner taking her dog for an innocent walk. However, we soon see something far more sinister unravel.
The footage shows a woman arriving with the Labrador in a black Tesla car.
They get off near the freeway right next to the wooded area
After walking side by side into a wooded area with a visibly excited Golden Retriever — the unimaginable begins to take place
The callous woman runs back to her Tesla, without her dog and drives away abandoning her elderly dog.

Thankfully the dog was quickly discovered, Henry was soon found by the Washington based shelter, I Paw’d It Forward. Who later shared the clip feature and their disappointment and disgust with what had occurred on their Facebook page, writing
This is what a dog that has just been abandoned looks like. They are still here. They are still waiting. They are still searching for you to return. They are confused. They do not understand why the humans they devoted their lives to, have disappeared.
The post goes on to lament over how frequently this happens and over the many dogs that are not as lucky as this one, who end up being found when it’s far it too late or not at all. They remind their followers that there is never a good reason to abandon a dog and share helpful resources for those who might be in a situation where they may have to give up their pets.
Thanks to the clip and the hard-work of Clark County’s Animal Protection and Control, the woman responsible has been found and is now facing criminal charges under local animal cruelty laws.
Even more sinisterly, neighbors have revealed that she had covered up her crime by telling everyone that Henry had passed away.
Thankful he is good hands over at Paw’d It Forward and it is reported to be doing very well.
Unfortunately, however, due to the ongoing investigation regarding his abuse Henry is not yet available for adoption, but if you are interested in supporting Henry and other rescues at the shelter you can follow them on Facebook or donate to the I Paw’d It Foward fundraise.
